I Ran Away From Home at Age 50!

Those of you out there that are in my age group, I am sure you are nodding your heads, or thinking, yep, that is where I am at!
Something happens when you reach 50 or so ~ you start finding out
who you really are, what you really like, and what you really want
to do with your life. It is like that turning point - kids are grown, husband is doing his thing and now what do you do?
Welllllllllllllllllllll . . . . . . . . . . . . .
I ran away from home!

I took minimal furnishings, rented a small one bedroom apartment and promptly moved in.
Here I sat at my little kitchen table and asked myself, what do I want to do? I had no money,
hadn't been in the work force in years, didn't know what marketable skills I possessed
nor did I even remember how to put a resume together!
I could play a mean round of golf, was a fantastic mother, and a great volunteer, but how
could I equate that to a working skill to get paid? It soon became obvious that the
personnel agencies that I called and went to, thought the same thing.
But there was one agency, where the owner literally took me under her wing. After
really getting to know me, my personality, my style, she found the perfect position for me.
A Day Spa in the area needed a receptionist! So, for $10 an hour, and my heart in my throat
I went to work! About a week into the position, I realized that "my goodness" all these
years I have been . . . . . . ~ Practicing Beauty ~ Playing With It ~ Reading About It
~ Learning About It ~ Living it!!!
I could do something other than being a receptionist I could be an esthetician!
There was one BIG problem! I didn't have any money to go to school!
So I set my goals ~ I worked for almost a year at that day spa, learned as much
as I could about the beauty business, saved my money so I could enroll in
Esthetician School and became an Esthetician!
After graduating, I found a little beauty shop in the town where I live and rented this
old store room ~ I simply renovated this little hole in the wall and turned it into a skin care room.
For "3" years I worked very very hard, continued to educate myself about skin care and my

I found a wonderful line of skin care products ~ my own "Private Label" ~
that I could Trust, Sell and see Great Results!
